Vicente Blanco

Vicente Blanco explores narrative aspects and how they intervene in processes of identity construction. He fragments narrative into various elements (video, drawings, murals, collage, etc.) so that it rebuilds itself through the details that will be activated (or not) according to the spectator's experience.

He equally tries to set up crossovers between the different media to produce intermediate spaces where situations of dialogue can be created. He is interested in traditional animation as an adolescent product, which he puts forward as a kind of sieve through which to filter images coming from the adult world. Animation enables him to work as with a collage when producing an image, selecting and creating associations between a variety of elements, such as those from the world of art or from architecture heavily loaded with symbolism.

Vicente Blanco's work has a bearing on memory but also on new ways of looking at things. It is like growing, using small items from a collective history to build an individual history.
