Tranzit Romania invites Curators' Network

Raluca Voinea and Lia Perjovschi, two of the board members of the newly founded Tranzit Romania project invited Curators' Network to join their first activity: A studio - brainstorming session with the title brainstorming nr.  1/ the responsible cultural agent (on art institutions, curators, artist’s role in time of changes). The purpose of the discussion that took place at the studio of Dan and Lia Perjovschi was to discuss on recomposing the principles of recognition, selection and presentation in contemporary arts, starting with the re-reading of information, and aiming for a better everyday life in the context of Lia Perjovschis latest project – The Knowledge Museum.

Tranzit Romania will be run by a team of five. Operating in the capital Bucharest, as well as the northern Romanian cities of Cluj and Lasi, Tranzit Romania intends to run a public programme of exhibitions and events, as well as acting as a platform for research and debate.


The Tranzit network was founded in 2002, with the support of Erste Foundation. It features autonomous sections based in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. The Romanian section will receive its own budget, to be managed by an administrative office in Iasi.
