Our Lady 2012

Our Lady in Art 2012 Calendar.
The whole serie is based on a found object, a 2012 wall calendar decorated with classic paintings of the Virgin Mary and the Child. I used these images to create my paintings and videos. I painted over the sheets of the calendar, altering and adding some details. I "contemporized" the Virgin, by changing her clothes turning her into a hipster with small lap dog I painted on top of the Child. I have also altered some of the iconic objects that were in the original paintings, for example a grape to an Iphone or a scarf to a hoodie. I scanned the images and made short videoloops, in wich the ladies are huging, binding and caressing these pupies.
