Chemtrails

by Manuela Pedrón Nicolau y Jaime González Cela

Conspiracy theories are contemporary legends. During the last few years, this phenomenon has replaced the traditional concept of popular tale, reinforced by scientific aspirations on the quest of truth (out there). Chemtrails is a curatorial project focused on the Narrative in Contemporary Art, and particularly on the popular culture ways of telling. By working with Eliana Beltrán, Paco Chanivet, Alejadra Avilés and Rafael Perez-Evans, artists in residency at Hangar (Barcelona), on the basis of rumour and legend’s creation and its viral dissemination, we produced a common project in the format of a multiform anthology of tales.

Artists: Eliana Beltrán, Paco Chanivet, Alejandra Avilés and Rafael Perez-Evans
