Hajnalka Tarr

I was born at 1977, Budapest. I graduated from the department of painting at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in 2006. Right now i am doing my dla program at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. I work in different media, but mostly make installations and objects. I am interested in dealing with the subject of change and relative existence through analyzing situations and objects that seem to have very clear and stiff definitions, and commonplace conceptual identities. Through my work, I try to demonstrate that a phenomenon doesn’t possess such a permanent identity or conceptualization; and a certain phenomenon and the language and concepts we generally associate with it are entirely different things.

My works are mostly process based, the methods I use are repetitive and time consuming, as through the creation of the work I try to also integrate and adapt to the fact that on an absolute level, nothing really exists.
