Carlos Maciá

Carlos Macià's pictorial work is tied in with murals and graffiti, and the occupation of public and private spaces, in a clear case of horror vacui. This drives him to use markers, felt pens and industrial spray paint, materials that allow spontaneous and gestural work to emerge, with rapid and improvised features.

His interest leads him to visually transform various open or closed places, either with large-scale round doodles or with lines and stains that accentuate the architecture.

His new work, still in its embryonic stage, seeks to radicalise and show some of the obsessions that pursue him. It is a series that plays with the limits of the medium itself and in which the finishes swing between industrial processes and modes of urban art.

A series that investigates the somewhat blurred boundary between painting and sculpture, and that tries to rescue everything that lacks a predetermined artistic intention, everything that gives it freshness and authenticity.
