Christina Nägele (Curator, art educator, Vienna)
Christina Nägele studied cultural science and aesthetics at the University of Hildesheim and has since been working at the threshold of fine arts, architecture and design in the realm of curatorial practice, cultural education and communication. Her focus lies on collaborative strategies as well as projects with thematic approaches and interdisciplinary discourses that focus on cultural practices, relational interventions, spatial production and contemporary social and ecological conditions.
Recent exhibition projects: 2012: “Tools for the Design Revolution”, in collaboration with the Institute of Design Research Vienna for the designforum Vienna; “Cooling Station. Worldwide Geoengineering and Local Weather Making”, in collaboration with Klaus Schafler for the contemporary art festival REGIONALE12, Styria. 2011: “The World as a Backdrop”, in collaboration with Beate Ermacora and Jürgen Tabor for the Galerie im Taxispalais, Innsbruck, 2009: “Well, I can’t exactly remember!”, a research project on temporary art interventions during her curatorial residence in the Künstlerhaus Schloß Balmoral, Bad Ems. Since 2011 she is working in the art education team of the Generali Foundation.
