II Residencies Exchange - III Curatorial Meeting Estampa Art Fair

The Curatorial Programme of Estampa Art Fair 2018, curated and produced by hablarenarte, focuses its attention for the second time on the field of art residencies. During three days, 15 directors and curators from international and Spanish residency programmes will meet and discuss about key issues of artistic production and mobility.

Within the field of the visual arts, the dynamizing role of artistic residency programmes is increasingly evident. The most important European and international art residencies are important hubs of transformation and internationalization in their local context. In Spain, despite significant advances in recent years and even though its prolific artistic scene, there are still only a few programmes specializing in the international exchange of artists and curators.

Faithful to the idea of a residency as a chance to rethink one’s own practice. The programme generates a space for exchange among peers in a relaxed and informal setting, talking about new ways to deal with the known issues in our field of work and to think together possible models of residencies and production centres. The idea for the three days of the “II Residencies Exchange” is to focus on the quality of prolonged, interpersonal talks between the participants.

With these aims we have invited the following professionals responsible of different international artist in residency programmes:

Lily Liu of Taipei Artist Village (Taipei, Taiwan), Christoph Tannert of Künstlerhaus Bethanien (Berlin, Germany), Anne Langlois of 40m Cube Generator (Rennes, France), Sally De Kunst of Arc Artist Residency (Romainmôtier, Switzerland), Piotr Sikora of MeetFactory (Praga, Czech Republic), Helen Carey of Fire Station (Dublin, Irland), Elisa Troiano of Cripta747 (Turin, Italy), José Campos Alemany of Consorci de Museos de la Comunitat Valenciana (Valencia), Manuela Villa Acosta and Gema Melgar of Matadero Madrid, Andrea Pacheco of Felipa Manuela (Madrid), Ivan Cicchetti of Espositivo (Madrid), Fabienne Aguado of Casa de Velázquez,(Madrid), Amelie López-Aranguren of Campo Adentro (Madrid) and Ane Agirre of Tabakalera (San Sebastian).
