Presenting a podcast on “Take the Book, Take the Money, Run”, Ciprian Homorodean’s book on the art of stealing and avoiding detection in today's overly-surveilled public sphere.

As part of the Encura #1, Marzia Matarese has been making terrific podcasts with the artists participating in The Conversation, occurring this Wednesday 9 December at 8pm. Follow this link to hear more about the processes and preoccupations of Hangar’s artists-in-residence.

The most recent podcast focuses on Romanian artist Ciprian Homorodean’s book “Take the Book, Take the Money, Run”. This unique, hand-illustrated work proposes an alternative approach for those suffering from the recent finical crisis: Don’t Shop. Steal.

While “Take the Book…” is certainly a useful introductory guide to the methods behind all sorts of theft (the image above details how to remove a mark’s watch) it also provides some useful insights into ways of avoiding detection in today’s overly-surveilled public sphere – a perfect addition to The Conversation.

You can read the book on Ciprian’s website, and for those who prefer and auditory experience, follow this link for my and Marzia’s first collaborative audio book!
