Notes and ideas for a displaced research

What is it needed to carry out a displaced research?

CampoBase is a curatorial collective founded in 2019.

After a year of programming at its space in via Reggio 14 in Turin, CampoBase continues to operate as a traveling platform. The collective prefers discursive practices and experimental approaches in the realization of events and artistic projects.

CampoBase aims to activate collective processes of knowledge through the creation of an open environment that favors public occasions for meeting and dialogue.

CampoBase is composed by Irene Angenica, Bianca Buccioli, Gabriella Dal Lago, Ginevra Ludovici, Federica Torgano, Stefano Volpato.

For the residency at Hangar, CampoBase continues its research on the theme of displacement, started in Turin with the festival House of Displacement which took place between 3 and 6 October 2019. The research is carried out in a displaced way: Irene Angenica will be the local contact person between Barcelona and Madrid, while the other members of CampoBase will work remotely and occasionally will take planes that will bring them to the spot.

It will be a displaced quest on displacement.

What is it needed to carry out a displaced research?

A list:

Learn to work remotely

Trust and rely on others

A series of tools: google drive, excel, skype, messenger, whatsapp

The promise not to abuse the tools listed above

The awareness that it will not happen

Be patient

Make an effort of imagination: how is Barcelona? How is it to be working at Hangar? How is it gonna be Planta Alta's residence?

Make a narrative effort

Listen

Put yourself in the shoes of others

Share experiences and knowledge

Walk at the same pace

Learn Spanish and Catalan?

Create a remote dialogue

Create an on-site dialogue and then bring it back miles away

Build a shared online library

Know how to confront with the team blatantly, but then love each other even stronger

Have fun
